Analysis for 24th July.

Sandown

3.30 Tawajah ran a cracker in a class 3 over a mile last time out after 612 days off finishing 2nd to the heavily backed Asmen warrior and he was only 1.5 lengths behind and the 3rd was 3 and 3 quarter lengths behind him so a very good run considering most of the horses in the race and around him were rated mid to late 90s.

It is a concern he entered just 2 weeks later as there is such a thing as the bounce factor, but if all is well, he's interesting in this dropping in grade even with the 5lb penalty. Forecast to be 11/4.

Yarmouth

5.39 Distinct spirit not stood much racing but I did put this horse to max first time out this season and he finished 3rd at 50s and travelled well in a class 4 at Newbury where his stablemate was well backed and won easily. Dropped in grade to a class 5, if he steps forward, he'd have a fair chance at a forecast price of 9/2

Southwell

7.46 lednikov back to his last winning mark of 51 where he won here over 14f by 7.5 lengths, hes won 6 times here at Southwell off higher marks and placed a good few times, Ivan furtado is in good form, hes a boom or bust and forecast to be 12s. He has to be double figures for a very small chance.

8.48 caph star, seeing as I'm the new amateur race champion analyst, I thought I'd find one for us..

Travelled very well at York in the class 4 with Harry rimell on finishing 3rd and staying on nicely and I think he might get a more vigorous ride this time in a class 5 where I'm sure father and son would like to win a race together. A strong pace is forecast, so that'll hopefully help to settle him. He's forecast to be 5s, and we wouldn't want lower than that as he has to represent at least a small amount of value in an amateur riders race.

We went round and round in circles to try to find a value play tomorrow but ultimately we tended to have more than one horse in each race. We've talked about lots of horses on the podcast @GallopingGu
