Analysis for Saturday 11th July Ascot and Newmarket.

Ascot 4:12 Tycoon

Tycoon comes here off the back of a poor effort at Epsom, but that’s easily forgiven considering the soft ground and unusual track. He steps up in trip here, and that could suit. His run at Newmarket, when narrowly beaten by Erzindjan and Fifth Column of which both ran respectably at Royal Ascot, is what makes him of interest here. It shows he can win off this mark, and this race looks less competitive, with question marks over some of his rivals' recent form. David Egan is in good form with 12 winners in the last two weeks, and the trainer is 4/10 in that same period. If he can see out the trip, he should play a part in the finish. Forecast to be around 8s a small e/w play could be good value.

Newmarket

5.10 Exposure is interesting on his second start for the gosdens with Ryan Moore booked having run an eye catching race at Newmarket not getting any daylight for basically the last furlong and a half and the jockey stood up in the irons for a large percentage of the final furlong.

The race is working out reasonably well with 4 runners, 2 wins, and a place so far, and there's every chance he'll strip fitter after that blow out from 249 days off.

He's forecast to be 14s, so a value play if he's 7s or above for a small play.
