Analysis for tomorrow at Newbury and Epsom on the 9th of July.

Newbury

6.52* Thunderous love is reasonably well handicapped now being 5lb below her last winning mark and having won this race last year on a day when Johnny Portman sponsors the first 2 races so clearly targets the day and also won one of the divisions of the novice races he sponsored last year.

Anyway, back on gf ground, having run on softer surfaces the last twice, and in this race after a month off and at a forecast price of 10s, she might be a bit of value for a small play

Jimmy knocker

7.27 The third star ran a nice race in 2nd last time out over cd behind river king who then finished a very good 5th of 28 at Royal Ascot next time out off 95, having won the race off 87, and in 3rd behind the third star was Knights gold who we believe is well handicapped at present.

If she can step forward a touch from that run, her forecast price of 8s wouldn't be a bad one, and anything above 6s would be fair.

Distinct spirit

Epsom

8.22 swiped seems to be improving now he's entered handicaps the last 3 times with a win and 2 seconds and although beaten at odds-on last time out he was clearly given too much to do to catch the well placed Nakaaha but was finishing strongly in the final furlong.

Prior to that, he won convincingly over the mile at a bath, and that race is working out fairly well with 4 runs a win and 2 places.

He's receiving plenty of weight for age in here, and provided he handles the undulations of Epsom, a forecast price of 7/2 wouldn't be bad with the visor applied for the first time.

3/1 or bigger we'd be ok with.
