4.50 Coolagh magic, is a horse I've followed throughout his career and is the grandad of the field these days but on his day particularly round here at Lingfield he still has the ability to play a part in the finish. Last February he was winning over cd off marks of 55 and 60 so tomorrow he's off 54 that puts him a pound lower than the first of his 2 wins and 6lb lower than the second although Jack doughty was claiming 3lb. He was wearing tongue tie and visor for those wins but has had wind surgery since so hopefully the tongue tie is no longer needed. His first run after wind surgery in January over cd off a mark of 61 I thought was quite eye-catching in a better race than this and last time out wasn't bad either and I'm not sure Carson was actually putting him into a position to challenge and desdemona who won the race easily has won again since. He was dropped 2lb for his efforts which is always useful and the pace forecast in the race tomorrow is strong with plenty of horses that like to get on with it and that definitely suits him because he will be held up for a late run. I'm always value seeking and for for a horse that likes to be held up and might need a bit of luck in running it has to be worth the risk. 5 and 6 furlong races are my least favourite as the race can very easily be lost at the start.
