4:35 Newbury. Naval Tribute, stepped up to two miles for the first time in his flat career last time. He had some solid form in bumpers over the trip, so this should be where we see the best of him. He was unlucky to bump into the massive gamble on Believitanducan at Ascot and finished a credible second. The winner won easily at Chester yesterday advertising the form. Calvert was back in third, but with Naval reunited with Fallon (rode him to victory at Beverley) i’d be extremely hopeful he will confirm the form. His only poor run in a handicap came around the tight Lingfield all-weather track, and the galloping nature of Newbury will be right up his street. Forecast to be around 7/2, i think, is fair value considering who beat him last time and anything around 3/1 would be fine. It is competitive, but everything we know points to a bold showing.
