4.26 Traila has dropped significantly in the handicap over the last couple of years and rightfully so as he clearly had a problem prior to his 540 day break and since then has struggled off marks in the high 80s.

Last time out over the 12f at Southwell he showed first signs of coming back to himself as he stayed on fairly well in 5th giving notice he could play a part off his current mark. The handicapper dropped him another 2lb from 75 to 73 for that run and with the uphill finish likely to suit him at Newcastle and callum shepherd back on who was the last jockey to win on him, he could be of small interest at around 5/1. I wouldn't want him too short as he hasn't won for a while and it's all about value.

5.39 Carron has been jetsetting in dubai and although didn't win over there he ran well in 3rd on January 9th at 9/4 favourite and then February 6th things didn't go to plan getting hampered when just starting to make his run and went off 7/4 fav there so was well fancied for both races on turf there. His all-weather form reads 3 runs 2 wins and Newcastle looks like a track that will suit over the straight mile. He's forecast to be around 5s which wouldn't be too bad with the boughey yard in good form and Billy on board.

6.30 flowstate has been in good form and cd form reads 4 runs 3 wins and his last run at Southwell didn't really work out for him as he was stuck in behind and never really able to open up until it was all too late. Back here over cd should have a fair chance with a forecast price of 4s wouldn't be too bad.
